THOSE PREDICTABLE FLOODS

However much mismanagement like building on floodplains played their part in the scale of January's disaster, the Queensland and Australian floods were not unpredictable. If no astrologers saw the problem that is their failure, it's not a case of what the patterns failed to show. I myself, who am not a mundane (i.e. political/national) astrologer had not been looking at the chart of Australia for a long time, but in the circumstances I could wish I had done so.

The Brisbane area, main focus of the floods, was founded 28th September 1824 at 10 am. In the great floods of January 1974 when the waters rose higher than in 2011 but caused less damage as the city was smaller, Pluto (any destruction) was in classic danger square to the natal Neptune (any water and floods).

In January 2011 Pluto had come to conjunct the same Neptune. More of the same or worse was aimply waiting to happen.

As regards the Australian chart

Before Christmas 2010 a lunar eclipse hit conjunct Australia’s Neptune at the same time as Uranus (shocks, surprises, accidents) made dangerous square (90 degree aspect) to this Neptune. Also if one takes as one should 1 pm, the beginning rather than later in the foundation ceremony on Jan 1st 1901 in Sydney, as the birth time, then the Part of Catastrophe natally sits on the 26 degrees of the 12th house of loss in watery Pisces. When Uranus (shocks accidents) was on this part the rains were on their way.

On Jan 4th there was a solar eclipse conjunct Australia’s sun itself loosely conjunct an asteroid Flood showing floods are a perennial danger for Australia, but only under certain conditions. The conjunction to Australia’s sun was one such condition with the other factors involved. The floods were now guaranteed.

FUTURE PROSPECTS

It is quite possible more is to come. Mid 2011’s eclipses are difficult. On July 1st a solar eclipse challengingly falls opposite Australia’s Flood asteroid even more than opposite its natal sun. Both lunar and solar eclipses will be difficult for Brisbane. It is possible there will be more floods or recovering from the present ones will take longer, be costlier harder than assumed.

THE NATURAL DIASASTER/ JUDGEMENT DEBATE,

In the shadow of an approaching Cyclone which threatens to be the worst in Queensland’s history, the Premier of Queensland, atheist Anna Bligh, has said it would be easy to think someone "up there" had a grudge against us, but we have to reckon on disasters in our extreme climate.

At the other end of the belief scale, Pastor Danny Nalliah, mentioned before on this Blog as a not fully reliable prophet, has been appealing for prayers against the floods and disasters and seriously claims it has been the prayers of the faithful have insured flood levels did not reach levels anticipated by the scientists, though overall he does still see a judgement message. And a certain Kenyan prophet, Dr David Owuor with a better record than Nalliah, (but sometimes opinions as eccentric), can be viewed on You Tube and his own website specifically forecasting the Australian floods last July.

I am not going to get into the pros and cons here. In fact, I am writing up about these issues in a book I am just completing, Christianity's Destiny, but sufficient to say, astrology, dismissed by scientism and fundamentalism alike, reveals the element of fatedness in events in relation to which both natural and supernatural opinions of events need to be considered.

Meanwhile..... my Temple Mysteries and Spiritual Efficiency has been issued and is available on Amazon. It is very topical including relative to a film premiered in America last Saturday and starring Anthony Hopkins, The Rite, based on a well received book of the name by Matt Baglio which (non fictionally) examines modern Roman exorcism. Reading that study I discovered that there are a lot of questions we can legitimately ask and I offered some genuinely original and I think perspectives in a chapter on exorcism. It’s not that the demons are necessarily a figment of the imagination, but the knowledge and technique being applied to them may not make for the spiritual efficiency which is a leading consideration of my book in a time of spiritual crises and scandals. I don't for example consider exorcisms which go on each month for years like so many therapy sessions to be the true item.
